8.5 DAOS results

There's been a lot of write up's on this subject, but I'd like to add my own too

After my previous tests here and here, I've finally taken it to the real environment.

Testserver:

Free Space(Disksize=287 Gb)	Action Taken
37.5 Gb	Initial free space
89.1 Gb	After compression (LZ1/Data/Design)
188 Gb	After compression & DAOS

A combined gain of 150,5 Gb *!!

On my first official user server the gains are as follows:

Free Space(Disksize=299 Gb)	Action Taken
6 Gb	Initial free space
165 Gb	After compression & DAOS

A combined gain of 160 Gb */**!!


Only one word for that: WOW!!!

Notes:
*: I've only DAOS-ed mailfiles, so no teamrooms (yet). There is more to gain as most of tem probably will have the same attachments!
**: There are no duplicate mailfiles on the 2 servers, so the results are very very impressive!
