Designer 8.5 and file not found

Permalink 04/01/09 14:18, by Dennis van Remortel, Categories: IBM, Lotus
Say what? It's open, you've read all the contents, but you won't allow me to open the contents?

Any suggestions on this one? It seems to want to open a replica of this database that doesn't exist anymore. In the 7 designer everything works as it should. I can't open views/forms/agents.

I posted in the 8.5 forum on this and I think I figured out why it happened.

I think the Designer client is very very sensitive to network hiccups and loses connection to the server very easily.

The app list acts like a cache, deleting the bookmark clears. Reopening the the app starts the slow rescan by Designer.

You might be having jvm heap space issues, look at a possible solution http://www.datatribesoftwerks.com/members/datatribe/DatatribeBlog.nsf/archive/20081006-5FFC9E?OpenDocument
Dont set the heap above available ram!

I can reproduce that problem as well. The problem with my installation is that I have two domino servers with the same name, only different certifiers (domino/A and domino/B). Whenever I try to open a design element in a database on server domino/B the designer client connects to the wrong server domino/A and gives the file not found error.
It seems that the Eclipse Designer does not honor the full servername.
